Kehinde Bamigbetan, Lead Consultant, Korki & Associates, is currently the president of the Association of Political Consultants –Africa, APCA.

He caught the flair for politics while following politicians on campaigns and press coverage during Nigeria’s ill-fated Second Republic between 1979 and 1983.

In 1984, he contested for the Vice Presidency of the Students’ Union of the University of Ife. The attempt launched him into the politics of the campus enabling him to secure victory on his second electoral campaign for the public relations office in 1985. The five-month nationwide protests against the killing of students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in May same year brought to the fore his creativity in strategy, propaganda and mobilization.
Since that debut, Bamigbetan has contested and led labour organisations such as the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ where he was elected chairman of the Vanguard Newspaper chapel in 1991 and Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council between 1997 and 1999.

He has also contested and won general elections in Lagos, Nigeria’s most industrialised and urbanized megacity. He was elected in 2008 and 2011 as the chairman of petroleum depot town of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area running two terms of three years each and initiating many enduring programmes and projects. These include schools, clinics, roads, toilets and free meals, drugs and uniforms.

Bamigbetan has handled strategic appointments at the state level. He was Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, 2003-5; Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, 2005-7; Special Adviser on Community & Communications, 2015-17 and Honourable Commissioner for Information & Strategy, 2018-19.

Bamigbetan consults for progressive institutions, governments and parties. He has written a book, Teacher, Don’t Teach Me Nonsense,co-edited several publications such as Alake: The Writer As A Strategist and contributed to many publications.
